Dear users, colleagues, and members of the laser science community,
As the Central Laser Facility is now embarking on the Vulcan 20-20 project, the Vulcan system that has existed since the late 1970s will now be decommissioned. Although we are very much looking forward, it is also important to look back. Therefore, CLF would like to hold a fitting event to mark this 'end of an era'.
To this end we are planning to hold a Vulcan Celebration - to be held on the 9th October 2023 - which will consist of a set of talks describing the science and history of the Vulcan system.
We cordially invite you to join the speakers and the CLF staff in celebrating over 40 years of Vulcan. The celebration will take place at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, in the Pickavance Lecture Theatre.
