The 8th Target Fabrication Workshop took place between Monday 26 – 28th September at the University of Oxford in which delegates from research institutes all around the world shared exciting updates in the field of Microtarget Fabrication, ranging from High Repetition Rate targetry to Low Density Materials Science. Many productive discussions were held on challenges delivering for next-generation laser facilities as well as tackling Inertial Fusion Energy targetry challenges.
The workshop saw 60 international delegates from across the globe including the UK, Germany, USA, France and India and took place at the Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre at Worcester College, University of Oxford. After presenting their research, the guests enjoyed a “Dinner Under the Dinosaurs” at the Museum of Natural History. It was fantastic to see our international colleagues in-person following a 4 year break from the previous workshop in the series and to see the fascinating research that has been taking place over that time.
