Real-world applications exploiting ultra-high intensity light-matter interactions will require the development of lasers and technology, capable of operating at high pulse energy and repetition rate. Combining high energy and high repetition rate opens a plethora of real-world applications. These applications span diverse fields such as communications, medical applications, orbital debris removal, and laser-driven fusion. The DiPOLE10 laser at CLF produce pulses of 10J at 10Hz with high stability and high spatial-temporal control. Recently a laser was developed, DiPOLE100, which generated 100J, 10Hz nanosecond pulses based on the DiPOLE technology.
