Background

Now, Danielle is heavily involved in the development of high-energy, high-repetition rate, cryogenically-cooled, multi-slab, diode-pumped, solid-state laser (DPSSL) systems through both optical modelling and simulation, and investigation and characterisation of optical components and material properties. She is also involved in various different experimental campaigns on the DiPOLE systems including: frequency conversion, depolarisation compensation and laser shock peening.
In addition to this, Danielle is currently undertaking an EngD alongside her job with the title “Development of a DPSSL pump for a 10Hz petawatt laser system".
Danielle has co-authored 3 peer-reviewed publications and given a successful talk on the developments of CALTA's DiPOLE technology in recent years at the CLF HPL Christmas Meeting.
Danielle also involves herself in various outreach activities and organises team building events.
