Our work within the network can be categorised under a single theme described in detail below. In Imaging and Spectroscopy of Biomedical Systems for Disease Detection, research is described in the area of extracting and disentangling information on life supporting biological systems. From molecular scales, to cells, tissues, organs and complete physiological systems there are examples of existing projects within STFC at all these levels.
The network support case describes a portfolio of work within which there are examples of studies that have just started and those that have already indicated clinically usefulness. Some of these works are evidence-based research, where the complexity of the systems is not probed too deeply. Rather a more phenomological approach has been taken in order to achieve diagnostic usefulness.
