Areas of science have been identified under where STFC technology has a larger potential impact than currently achieved. The leaders in each chosen area have written a short description of the science and related STFC technology which is ongoing but would benefit greatly from the proposed network activities. The studies come under the general umbrella description of biochemical state determination through imaging and spectroscopy. Specifically the biochemical state is used to probe a disease process, thus linking the biology and the medicine.
The theme may then be given the title:"Imaging and Spectroscopy of Biomedical Systems for Disease Detection".
