Division Head - High Power Lasers
Cristina Hernandez-Gomez is the Head of the High Power lasers division. She has responsibility for the Vulcan, Gemini and Artemis facilities and their theoretical and experimental programme. She joined the CLF nineteen years ago as a laser scientist; she was responsible for the commissioning of stretcher and compressor of the Vulcan Petawatt upgrade. In 2011 Cristina became Vulcan Group Leader implementing the TAW dual short pulse upgrade. Cristina has vast expertise in ultra-high intensity lasers and has been part of key technology development programmes and has contributed to the R&D of OPCPA and DPSSL technologies.
